Chronology of cameras Vokar

Traduction de Manuel M

The true name of the Vokar company was “Electronic Products Manufacturing Corp.”. This company was located in Ann Arbor, in Michigan, that is to say in the same city as Argus. The common points do not stop here. In 1940, the man who is held in charge of Electronic Products Manufacturing Corp. is Charles Verschoor, who has been just kicked out from the head of IRC, by the crestfallen shareholders by the poor financial results of this company. IRC is the first name of… Argus. It is plausible that C. Verschoor, more designer that manager designed the camera whereas it was still at IRC, so much the time is short between its departure and the launch of the Vokar A.

This folding camera is manufactured out of bakelite.
Publicity praises the “Variocoupled Light Control”. This system is saying revolutionary, seems to be only one mechanical coupling between aperture and speed.
